Jenseits der Brandung

Overview

A hard fantasy visual-narrative concept book reimagining the Pocahontas myth and the King’s Daughter Complex in a brutal, unromanticized world. Created in collaboration with THA (Technische Hochschule Augsburg) and author Benjamin Hirth, this project explores colonization, cultural conflict, and love in the fictional realm of Naurika. Through detailed illustrations and meticulous world-building, it transforms the classic tale into a gritty, adult-oriented fantasy, focusing on the harsh realities of expansion, violence, and survival. The work serves as a foundation for a future publication, offering a unique, authentic perspective on founding myths and their visual representation.
